Take your Palate from Zero to Hero in One Evening
Wine culture can be stuffy, pretentious, and intimidating. We created Sommify as a way to have fun with your friends while accidentally learning to blind taste like the Somms! Players take turns guessing mystery wines in an atmosphere reminiscent of a drinking game, using the Sommify Wine Key to deduce the Grape and Country of the mystery wine!
Boards Arrive in November...
Join the Pre-Order List TODAY!
How it Works
• The “Somm” is the judge of the round and pours their mystery wine for all
• Players pre-call the grape and country of the wine using their Sommify Wine Key
• Players unlock Cellar Doors with wine calls to advance their pawn to the final zone and declare the grape and country
• The “Somm” reveals the wine and scores the round
Look What They Said About us:
Master Sommelier, Spire Collection
"Sommify is a fun way to learn about tasting wine. You don't have to be a professional to play, you just have to enjoy drinking wine!"
Wine Director, Hugh Acheson Restaurants
"Basically, any time you can get people out of a stuffy tasting group format and into a relaxed gameplay setting, blind tasting is WAY more fun.”
"Finally, there's a board game to teach you blind tasting."
The creator of Sommify, Conner, was known on the streets as “trash palate.” In early 2019, he and wife Jessica decided to get serious about blind tasting, having both been in the wine industry for several years. Students studying for Sommelier or WSET exams often meet weekly for blind tasting groups. The problem: these groups, while effective, are often intimidating, stuffy, or overwhelming. Why couldn't a tasting group be more like a boozy game night?
To fix this problem, Conner and Jessica started brainstorming ways to make blind tasting less stuffy and more... fun. After a year of prototyping, we believe our game straddles the perfect line of drinking game and info-tainment. It definitely taught blind-tasting well enough that Conner passed both Certified Sommelier (level 2) and WSET III in the fall of 2019! With the addition of brother-in-law Andrew McKee's creative direction, Sommify was born.
